August 1st is Switzerland's national holiday. In particular, the legend of Wilhelm Tell and the uprising of the cantons of Switzerland against the then Austro-Habsburg occupying power describe the situation at that time. Here the merger and the founding of the "Concordia Helvetica", ie Switzerland, was sealed with the Rütli oath. Incidentally, the "CH" car plate is the abbreviation of this historical name. Helvetia was the name of the Germanic tribe, "Concordia" means union in Latin.

This is celebrated every year in our hotel. As you can see above, national symbols are already given for breakfast. In the afternoon, small games in groups, skits and alphorn appearances are performed. It's different every year. At night a big fire is lit as a sign of the successful battle against the Austrians of the time.
