If you want to go on a full day trip to the Grimsel Pass, this tour to the Oberaarsee at 2300 meters above sea level is a must! This tour by car is not for the faint of heart! The street may only be used as a one-way street, every half hour there is oncoming traffic to return. The actual travel time is 20 minutes, so the direction of travel is only set to green for 10 minutes within a whole hour. Parking is very easy at the Oberaarstausee. During the journey, however, it is not allowed to stop, no matter how beautiful the view is. There are no alternative options while driving!
If you still have some time, you can hike from the parking lot on the right bank of the Oberaarsee on an easily accessible path in the direction of Oberaarjochhütte. However, the path to the hut is only accessible to good, alpine-equipped hikers.
